Manson To Attempt Snake Record

Marilyn Manson has revealed that has dreams of breaking a very strange world record which involves sharing a bath with snakes. Manson says he wants to break the record held by ‘Texas Snakeman’ Jackie Bibby who shared a tub with 87 rattlesnakes for 45 minutes.

A friend of Manson’s said, "He thought about all the wacky records he could try and break, and came across Jackie Bibby's record. That's when he decided he wanted to try and break it."

Bibby holds four records in total including one which includes holding eight rattlesnakes in his mouth by their tales. He said of his technique of keeping himself out of harms way, "They can go wherever they want as long as they don't start biting. The key to not biting is for me to stay still."

"Rapid movement scares a rattlesnake. If you move real slow and gentle, that doesn't seem to bother them.”

Foxy Brown Update!

Did you ever think you'd hear the words "Foxy Brown" and "good behavior" in the same sentence? Well, here goes: Rapperista Foxy Brown has been let out of "punitive segregation" early -- for -- yes -- "good behavior" while in solitary. She was supposed to do 76 days in the unit, but only did 40 days. We're told that she was one of four female inmates given early release among the 20-plus in the unit, and our source stressed that she received neither celebrity nor holiday treatment. Foxy got herself thrown into solitary for shoving another inmate and refusing to give a urine sample, but we're told that she was compliant and cooperative. Do you believe in miracles?

Spice Girls Tour Update

Fans in Buenos Aires encountered quite the scare this weekend when various web sites reported the concert for the group's reunion world tour had been cancelled. Reps for the Spice Girls are adamantly denying the internet claims that originated after a fake e-mail was sent to fans saying the British pop stars had nixed the Buenos Aires event.

"The Spice Girls would like to make it clear that they have not cancelled their Buenos Aires show," a spokesperson for the girls told BBC News, CBC reports. "The fake e-mail claims that due to the demand so far in the U.K. and the U.S., this show is going to be cancelled. This is not the case and this e-mail is 100 per cent unofficial and has nothing to so with the Spice Girls," the rep said in a statement.

The girls most widely known as Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Baby and Posh made the announcement this spring that they would be reuniting for an exclusive world tour. The tour will start on on Dec. 2 in Vancouver.

Christan Group Wants 50 Cent To Quit

A radical Christian group is calling for 50 Cent's retirement in light of his recent SoundScan showdown with Kanye West. The Christian media watchdog group known as The Resistance are demanding that 50 put down the mic for good, since he'd previously sworn to retire from rap if Curtis failed to surpass West's Graduation in record sales. "It is time for 50 Cent to be a man of his word, and retire," Mark Dice, spokesman for The Resistance, explained. "The world will be a better place when this Satanic piece of filth retires and stops making music." The Resistance has also requested their supporters post comments on 50's MySpace page encouraging him to retire. While 50 Cent lost the sales battle domestically after Graduation debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 by moving 957,000 copies and Curtis came in at No. 2, selling 691,000 copies, 50 has since proclaimed himself a victor citing international sales.

Britney Is Back

After having a smash single all around the world with Gimme More, Britney Spears is releasing the ever so personal Piece Of Me as the second single. The single is already getting major airplay in the US, jumping from #122 last week to #55 this week on the Pop Radio format. The single will for sure be a smash success, and hopefully help the declining album sales, as Blackout drops from #2 to #7 this week.

Velvet Revolver's Scott Weiland Considers Memoir

Reformed rockers and autobiographies go together like nouveau rockers and rehab. With memoirs by Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Dave Navarro, and Slash already on bookstore shelves, Velvet Revolver/Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland is next at bat.

Weiland, 40, said he would collaborate on the project with David Ritz who has co-written autobiographies for the likes of Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and most recently Don Rickles.

Weiland has been reluctant to begin penning his diary of a former dope fiend, but bandmate Slash has advised him, "Just jump in, and once you get going you can't stop." We're not sure if he's referring to the memoir or the drugs.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Still Own Word "California"

It was only a matter of time…

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are suing Showtime Networks over the name of the television series "Californication," which is also the name of the band's 1999 album and a single on it.

The lawsuit alleges unfair competition, dilution of the value of the name and unjust enrichment, claiming the title is "inherently distinctive, famous ... and immediately associated in the mind of the consumer" with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. "'Californication' is the signature CD, video and song of the band's career and for some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right," said the band's lead singer, Anthony Kiedis, in a statement.

The television series stars David Duchovny as a novelist suffering from writers' block and a mid-life crisis. According to the suit, the show features a character named "Dani California," which is also the title of a Red Hot Chili Peppers song released in 2006.

The suit seeks a permanent injunction barring use of the title for the show, damages and restitution.

Louis Vuitton Wins Suit Against Britney Spears Video

High end designer Louis Vuitton has won a lawsuit that alleged a Britney Spears music video violated counterfeiting laws by showcasing a pink Vuitton-upholstered dashboard.

In the opening scenes of the video, Spears appears in the driver's seat of a hot pink Hummer with her fingers drumming on a dashboard covered with what looks like Vuitton's "Cherry Blossoms" design: dark pink blossoms on a pale pink, weblike background, embossed with the "LV" logo.

A Paris civil court ordered Sony BMG and MTV Online to stop broadcasting or marketing the video for "Do Something" in any form and fined them 80,000 euros ($117,000) apiece. The ruling said the video constituted an "attack" on Louis Vuitton's brands and its luxury image, the spokeswoman said.

Neil Diamond Spills the Beans

One of pop music’s great mysteries is solved and good times never seemed so good! Neil Diamond has revealed that President Kennedy’s daughter was the inspiration behind his signature '69 hit “Sweet Caroline.”

"I've never discussed it with anybody before — intentionally," the 66-year-old singer-songwriter told The Associated Press on Monday during a break from recording. He was finally compelled to reveal the secret when he performed the song via satellite at Caroline Kennedy’s 50th birthday party.Diamond was a "young, broke songwriter" when a photo of the president's daughter in a news magazine caught his eye. Years later, he would pen the words and music in a Memphis hotel room in under an hour. The song became a #1 hit and has recently revisited the singles chart, due in part to the Boston Red Sox adopting it as a home game anthem.
